User profiles

B4bit Pay distinguishes three user profiles within each merchant. Each profile has a different scope of permissions.

Administrator

Automatically assigned to the user who creates the merchant. Has full control:

• Edit merchant preferences.
• Configure fund withdrawals.
• Manage all payment methods.
• Invite and manage the rest of the merchant’s users.
• Create, edit and delete devices.
• Access all transactions and balances.

Read-Only Administrator

Designed for accounting or finance departments. Allows:

• Viewing all transactions and balances.
• Exporting reports.

Restrictions:

• Cannot perform fund withdrawals.
• Cannot modify merchant settings.

Operator

Basic role for customer service teams. Its main function is to request payments.

• Can create payment requests.
• Can optionally be linked to one or more specific devices.
• Any other operation requires explicit authorization from the administrator.

Tip

Always assign the lowest privilege role required. An operator who only collects payments at the register does not need to view balances or withdraw funds.
